Latest Decision Model Watch

As of Oct 16, 2026

Prices in USD per million input tokens. The standard name for this category is "decision model"; TypeSafe brands the class "System One models". Updated from public sources.

TypeSafe AIAs of Oct 16, 2026

Jev (hosted API)

$0.042 per 1M input tokens, no output charge. Leads the Artificial Analysis Decision Index (Oct 13) at 58. Roughly 1.05 billion requests routed through OpenRouter as of Oct 11. The System One API takes a state plus questions (Choice / Noul / Score). The jev-latest alias still points to 1.13.0.

PerplexityAs of Oct 16, 2026

Decider v1.1 27B

Apache 2.0 open weights plus a hosted API at $0.02 per 1M input tokens, output free. The model card reports the Decision Index rising 56.4 to 61.56, "outperforming Jev by more than 3.5 points". An Oct 9 update claims 94.5% on Decision Bench at $0.017 per 1,000 decisions. Qwen3.8-27B backbone, 8,192-token input cap.

OpenAIAs of Oct 16, 2026

Decisions API (beta)

Entered beta on Oct 6, powered by GPT-6 Luna. Handles yes/no predicates, multiple-choice and numerical scoring over text and images. $0.10 per 1M input tokens, no output charge. OpenAI says it runs up to ten times faster than the same model through the Responses API.

MicrosoftAs of Oct 16, 2026

Microsoft-Decision-1

Available since Oct 9 in Microsoft Foundry and on OpenRouter. Post-trained from Qwen3.5-9B. $0.042 per 1M input tokens, matching Jev. Microsoft reports top accuracy in an internal evaluation of ~150,000 questions across 36 benchmarks and claims it is 35× faster than GPT-6 Sol. Scores 54 on the Decision Index.

CloudflareAs of Oct 16, 2026

Clef / Clef-flash / Clef-omni

Clef and Clef-flash shipped Oct 1 as open-weight models in the Workers AI ecosystem. Clef-omni followed on Oct 9, adding audio and video input and up to 2× faster inference. Clef-flash costs $0.038 per 1M input tokens, cut from $0.09 on Oct 9.

d1 / Kev / Laya / Tev1 and more

Liquid AI released d1-3B and d1-omni-600M on Oct 7 for local and edge deployment (hosted d1 is $0.04). Kev spans 0.8B to 27B under Apache 2.0 with a Jev-compatible API. Laya (Convai) uses 421M and 322M encoders across 100+ languages. Also public: GLiNER2.5-Decide (Fastino, Apache 2.0), Tev1-4B (Together, $0.042) and Strands Decider.

Third-party benchmarksAs of Oct 16, 2026

Two indexes, not one

On the Artificial Analysis Decision Index (Oct 13), Jev 1.13 leads at 58 with GLiDE and Microsoft-Decision-1 at 54. The community-run Decision Index 0.3.2, covering 160 models, instead puts vLLM-SR d3 first at 66.26, GLiDE’s no-thinking variant at 60.21 and Jev 1.13.0 at 60.11. The two indexes are not interchangeable.

Where to use themAs of Oct 16, 2026

Routine decisions belong here

Input pricing runs from $0.02 (Decider) to $0.10 (OpenAI Decisions API); Jev, Microsoft and Tev1 sit at $0.042, and none of them charge for output. The sensible split is high-volume routine decisions at this layer and only the hard cases to a frontier model. New yardsticks such as Opper AI’s "Jevman" are appearing too.
